President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the opening of the Dashalti village mosque in Shusha district, May 9.
Special representative of the president of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Shusha region Aydin Karimov and director of “PMD Projects” Nariman Topchibashev informed the head of state and the first lady about the work done.
The foundation of the Dashalti village mosque was laid in November 2021 by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva. The mosque was built in the center of the village in the national architectural style. The two-room mosque was built in accordance with the traditions of the Karabakh architectural school due to its general architectural composition, planning and artistic and decorative features. The form of minarets of Yukhari Govhar Aga mosque was used when designing minarets with a height of 22.5 meters. More than 150 people will be able to worship at the same time in the two-storey mosque.
The construction of the Dashalti village mosque was carried out in accordance with the instructions given by President Ilham Aliyev to restore our material and cultural monuments, religious centers and build new ones in the liberated territories. The restoration of our mosques destroyed during the occupation, the construction of new religious centers is an indicator of the appreciation of the Azerbaijani state for the national and spiritual values, cultural and historical richness of our people.
The head of state and the first lady were also informed about the work to be done within the framework of the “reconstruction project of Dashalti village”. This project combines rural life with commitment to local architectural heritage, environmental sustainability and modern tourist infrastructure. In Dashalti village with a total area of about 65 hectares, an 80-room 5-storey hotel building, cottages, trade and public facilities, including an Information Center, an exhibition building and a workshop will be built. According to the project, it is planned to create a rural space with wide tourism opportunities, which is in unity with nature and history.
The recreation area of Dashalti village is designed on the principle of minimal intervention in nature and will allow nature lovers to connect more closely with the environment. The project combines activities suitable for different age groups and interests, and also provides a unique experience of relaxation, balancing between functionality, calm and adventure.
