On September 16, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan viewed in Shusha the statues of Azerbaijan’s prominent figures Natavan, Bulbul, and Uzeyir Hajibeyli, which had been shot by Armenian occupiers. The President of the United Arab Emirates was informed that during the occupation the Armenians had taken these statues to Armenia with the intention of melting them down. As a result of the intervention of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the statues were recovered from Armenia and brought back to our country. After being kept for some time in the courtyard of the Museum of Arts in Baku, the statues were returned to their original places once Shusha was liberated from occupation.
