The book presentation titled “Shusha – The Crown of Karabakh, the Temple of Caucasian Art, the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World” was held in Ankara

The presentation of the book titled "Shusha – The Crown of Karabakh, the Temple of Caucasian Art, the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World" was held in Ankara.

On August 1, a ceremony for the presentation of the book "Shusha – The Crown of Karabakh, the Temple of Caucasian Art, the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World" took place in Ankara, the capital of Turkey.

The event, organized at the headquarters of TURKSOY, was attended by Secretary General of the organization Sultan Raev, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Turkey Rashad Mammadov, Chief Advisor to the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Shusha district Elshad Iskandarov, Head of Department of the Shusha City State Reserve Management Sahiba Alekperova, Representative of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey Abdulsamet Tas, Head of Department at the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan Vasif Gurbanzade, Director of the Center for Turkic World Studies of Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University Jamila Kinaci Baran, and other guests.

Chief Advisor Elshad Iskandarov spoke about the restoration and reconstruction efforts being carried out in the territories liberated from occupation. “Shusha is becoming more beautiful with each passing day. Four museums have started operating in the city, and numerous hotels and restaurants have been opened. But most importantly, former internally displaced persons are returning to their native lands. Children are going to school. Every month, hundreds of thousands of people visit Shusha,” said E. Iskandarov.

Published in Turkish with the support of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY), the book authored by Professor Elchin Ahmadov, Doctor of Political Sciences and Head of the Karabakh Heritage Research Center under the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, explores the historical, cultural, and strategic significance of Shusha — the cradle of enlightenment and cultural center of Azerbaijan.
