The National Urban Planning Forum was held in Georgia
The Second National Georgian Urban Planning Forum was held in Georgia from June 11 to 13. The purpose of the forum was to discuss the sustainable development of mountainous areas, best practices, and the experiences of Central Asia, Eastern Europe, and Caucasus countries within the framework of the theme “Development of Mountain Settlements: The Importance of Spatial and Urban Planning.” The forum consisted of several panel sessions.
During the panel titled "Spatial Planning for Mountainous Areas: Challenges of Urban Development in High-Altitude Settlements," Deputy Executive Director of the Shusha City State Reserve Administration, Muslim Imranli, spoke about the formation of the city of Shusha — the peak of our historic Victory, the pearl of Karabakh, and the eternal guardian of our national and spiritual values — as a city of great economic, political, and cultural significance, emphasizing that urbanization is one of the key issues of our time.
Muslim Imranli spoke about creating favorable conditions for people to live comfortably and beautifully, the restoration of Shusha's historical and architectural monuments after its liberation from occupation, ongoing beautification and construction works in the city, and the architectural symposium held in this ancient land. He highlighted the importance of sharing experiences among specialists from different countries in the field of urban planning and expanding cooperation to ensure sustainable development.
The panels continued in the format of discussions.
