“Knowledge Day” was celebrated in the city of Shusha.

On September 15, on the occasion of “Knowledge Day” and the beginning of the new academic year, an event was held at Shusha City Secondary School No. 1. The Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Shusha district Aydin Karimov, the Executive Director of the Shusha City State Reserve Administration Tural Novruzov, the Head of the Karabakh Regional Education Department Senan Mensimli, representatives of law enforcement agencies, families of martyrs, war veterans, the school staff, and parents attended the event.

At the official ceremony held in front of Shusha City Secondary School No. 1, first the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was performed. The memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our homeland was honored with a minute of silence.

Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev, Special Presidential Representative in the Shusha district Aydin Karimov, Principal of Shusha City Secondary School No. 1 Sabina Gozalova, and the school’s teacher Aynur Abbasova delivered speeches, congratulating teachers and students on September 15 – “Knowledge Day” and the start of the new academic year. They wished success in education and emphasized that this academic year, beginning in Shusha, will gift our Motherland, our beloved Azerbaijan, worthy children raised with knowledge, literacy, patriotism, and national-spiritual values.

First-graders also expressed their joy about the start of the new school year by performing songs and reciting poems.
