In accordance with the directive of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, as part of the "First State Program for the Great Return," on December 4, 2024, 48 families, totaling 164 people, who had been temporarily relocated from the city of Shusha, returned to their homeland and were provided with housing. The ceremonial handover of the keys to the apartments took place with the participation of Ismail Ismailov, Advisor to the Representation of the President of Azerbaijan in the Shusha District, Gulbeniz Babayeva, an employee of the State Historical and Cultural Reserve of Shusha, representatives of the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs, the Employment Agency, and other authorities.
The residents of Shusha expressed their gratitude to the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and the First Vice-President, Mehriban Aliyeva, for their comprehensive state support. Returning to their historic homeland, they respectfully honored the memory of the heroes who fell for the territorial integrity of our country and expressed their gratitude to the Azerbaijani Army, the brave soldiers, and officers.
Thus, the total number of families resettled in the city of Shusha now stands at 268 families — 987 people.
