The 5th anniversary of our Victory and Shusha City Day were celebrated in Shusha.
Under the leadership of the Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, the Victorious Azerbaijani Army achieved a historic victory on November 8, 2020. The city of Shusha—the cradle of Azerbaijani culture—was liberated from the occupiers.
Organized by the Special Representative Office of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Shusha District and the Shusha City State Reserve Administration, a series of events was held in the city to mark the 5th anniversary of our Victory and Shusha City Day.
The events were attended by Aydin Karimov, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Shusha District, and Tural Novruzov, Executive Director of the Shusha City State Reserve Administration, as well as responsible staff of the Special Representative Office and the Reserve Administration, families of martyrs and veterans, heads of law-enforcement agencies, public representatives, and residents of Shusha.
At the event held at Shusha City Secondary School No. 1, poems recited by schoolchildren, national dances, short sketches, and a performance presented by students of the drama club of Karabakh University were greeted with applause.
In the “Güllü bağ” area, handicrafts by Shusha residents were exhibited. Delicious dishes prepared by hotels and restaurants operating in Shusha, along with those made by residents, and the music that filled the air made the festivities even more colorful.
An art exhibition by Shusha residents in the foyer of the “Shusha” hotel drew great interest. The festive concert presented by residents was memorable for its grandeur.
The event titled “8 November — The Triumph of Victory” began with the performance of the State Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The cherished memory of our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of our homeland was honored with deep respect.
Addressing the gathering, Aydin Karimov, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Shusha District, congratulated our people on this remarkable day.
The festive concert, continued with the participation of students of Karabakh University and with the support of the Ministry of Culture, contributed to the joy and celebratory mood of the residents of Shusha.
At the end of the event, a grand fireworks display painted the sky of Shusha in vivid colors.
A trip to Shusha has been organized for local tourism companies. On December 7, with the support of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB), the Association of Travel Agencies of Azerbaijan (ATAA), and the Shusha City State Reserve Department (ŞŞDQİ), a visit to the city of Shusha was organized for 40 local tourism companies.
