As part of the project "Sustainable Development Goals in the Great Return," a training was held in the city of Shusha.

Within the framework of the "Sustainable Development Goals in the Great Return" project, implemented by the Azerbaijan-American Youth Public Association, a training session was conducted in Shusha with the support of the Shusha City State Reserve Management. Vugar Akhmedov, Chairman of the Azerbaijan-American Youth Public Association, opened the training with a welcome speech and discussed the project's goals and objectives. Participants were then provided with practical and theoretical knowledge on community building, enhancing employment opportunities for internally displaced persons, and strengthening the reintegration process.

The newcomers received information about the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), discussed the application of SDGs in community building, participated in focus group discussions to assess community needs, and attended presentations and consulting services on business formation and entrepreneurship for youth and women.

The training, conducted by professional trainers Elshad Shiriev and Arzu Ibrahimova, identified needs related to employment issues. Participants were guided on how to develop business plans and submit applications, with ongoing support provided, including technical assistance to small entrepreneurs and provision of necessary equipment.

The target group of the project included young women, young entrepreneurs, and local communities. The main goal was to promote new business ideas and support the training of new entrepreneurs.

During the training, participants shared their needs and opinions with the organizers. All suggestions and feedback will be collected and presented to government and private sector representatives at a public-private-community conference, which will be held upon the project's completion. Further discussions will be organized in this direction.

The project is funded by the State Support Agency for Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan. At the end of the training, participants were awarded certificates.
