This house belonged to Abdurrahim Bey Hagverdiyev - Azerbaijani writer and dramatist, socio-political and theater worker, pedagogue, literary critic, honored artist of the Azerbaijan SSR, classic of Azerbaijani literature, MP of the First Russian Duma from Azerbaijan, MP of the Georgian Parliament, first conductor at the premiere of the "Leyli and Majnun" opera, founder of the Theater Council and house, the first head, member of Writers' Union, one of the authors of "Molla Nasreddin" magazine. It is an architectural monument of the 19th century. It was a large two-story mansion built in the local architectural style. After the occupation of Shusha, it was heavily destroyed by Armenian terrorists. Currently, some ruins remain. After Shusha was freed from occupation, design works are in process to carry out conservation and restoration of the mansion.
