It is an architectural monument of the 19th century. The caravanserai was built the 18th century by Khanliq Mukhtar. Although there is not much-written information about Khanliq Mukhtar in history, it is known that he served in the Khan's palace and was one of the nobles of the city. Closer to the end of the 19th century, one of the many caravanserais operating in Shusha was the Khanliq Mukhtar caravanserai. After the city was occupied by Armenians in 1992, part of the caravanserai building was completely destroyed. The part of the building facing the Bazarbashi square has remained to this day. It is planned to restore this fragment of the building.
